'Wees de Foto' Foundation aims to provide orphans anywhere in the world in their own 
The photo albums are made in the Netherlands by creative volunteers who "adopt" a booklet. Thus, each album is made with a lot of attention and each album is unique.

Because they have the right on a future with good memory's of the past… So that they will grow up as adults with self confidence. Financial
The foundation does reimburse the cost for the personal photo albums for the children. In addition, the additional available financial resources are used for direct aid on the spot. For example if it happens that during the visit of one of the photographers the washing machine of the orphanage breaks, it can be possible (after brief consultations with the foundation) to buy a new washing machine. Direct, verifiable and practical help! Your money is well spent and therefore is already 10 times more valuable. |
Vision 'Wees de Foto' gives orphans the feeling that they too are important in this world. It does so by giving something personal: a photo book. A small gesture with great impact. 'Wees de Foto' generates fundings with the sale of the general book. All of the money goes directly to the visited orphanages. 'Wees de Foto' checks that the money is well spent on a proper environment for all orphans: an environment in which they can grow into adults who are capable of creating a full life for themselves. The foundingFounder Kitty Kroone says: "One day I received a call from a young mother, Petra, who wanted to have her pciture taken with her children. Preferably the same day. She would undergo a series of chemotherapy and unfortunately she did not know how long she would live. With goose bumps on my arms, I immediately freed my agenda and welcomed her at the end of the day with two children aged 1.5 years and 5 years. It appeared that she was conscious single mother and so after her death the children would be orphaned . The idea that she wanted beautiful photos of her for her children was so beautiful and so sad at the same time. This assignment didn't let me go. I had an idea to do the same for orphanages. I told this to others and soon there were several photographers who found it a great idea. This idea became a project for several photographers. The foundation was born! Petra deceased 5 months after the photoshoot. In the back of the huge church, I cried. The photos that I had made were everywhere. Thankfully I was able to tell Petra she was my inspiration for "Wees de Foto". There was a smile on her face. Petra, this is your legacy! " |

Foundation Wees de Foto has no profit objective and works with minimal costs. The photographers pay their journey completely. Each euro spent in the Netherlands is made fully available to the orphans there.
